My name is Vicky. I live with my husband and 3 sons Bear, Fox and Wolf in Dubbo - an inland city of NSW Australia.
I stumbled on the Montessori Philosophy when I was searching for present ideas for Bear's first Christmas. I wanted to find him something beautiful that he would love and use and that we would treasure into the future. I was captured by the intriguing Montessori materials and found myself drawn into a rich and exciting world I never knew existed - of Montessori blogs!
I started this blog to chronicle our progress, for accountability and to encourage me to persevere. I have gained so much information and inspiration from blogs so now I hope to contribute. I also hope that we might be able to develop a local community in Dubbo to share our journeys and resources.
More important to us than Montessori is our Christian faith and our hope in Jesus. We strive to bring him glory in all we do especially in the way that we live as a family and raise our children. Jesus loved children and valued their intrinsic worth. I have found a lot of encouragement in the way the two world views fit together. Both love and respect children and celebrate the gift that they are.
"Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one's youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them." Psalm 123:3-5
